NOTICE OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING
The Board of Zoning Adjustment for the
City of Athens, Alabama, will hold a work session at 5:00 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, at 200 W. Hobbs Street, on Thursday, May 17, 2018, for the purpose of hearing the following applications and appeals. At this time, the applicant and all interested parties are requested to be present and will be given the opportunity to be heard.
Case #1 Request of Pam & Crute Parker for a Variance to increase the side setback from a zero lot line to 10 feet (a 10 feet to the side setback), located at lot P-75, Winged Foot Lane of Canebrake Subdivision, in an C-PUD, Conventional Planned Unit Development.
Case #2 Request of Bill Strain for a Variance to reduce the required lot size from 3 acres to +/-1.5 acres, located at 404 Strain Road West, in an EST, Estate Residential and Agricultural District.
Case #3 Request of Bill Strain for a Variance to reduce the required front yard setback from 50 feet to 10 feet (a reduction of 40 feet to the front setback), located at 404 Strain Road West, in an EST, Estate Residential and Agricultural District.
Case #4 Request of Brian Gibson for a Special Exception to allow for approval of major home occupation to operate a mail/online order business to sell firearms and allow for limited local pickup, located at 13435 Morning Glory Drive in an R-1-1 Single Family Low Density Residential District.
Case #5 Request of Robert Blair for an Administrative Appeal for an address assigned to an accessory dwelling of 402 Green Street. The principal dwelling is located at 301 East Street in a HN Historic Neighborhood District.
