BOX 1089 ATHENS, ALABAMA 35612-1089 TELEPHONE (256) 232-1440 ADVERTISEMENT FOR PRICED PROPOSAL The City of Athens Utilities, Wastewater Department, solicits SEALED PRICED PROPOSALS from qualified, Alabama-Licensed Public Utilities Contractors for the installation of the Medical Village Sewer Relocation, Phase 2. The project will consist of the installation of 743 l.f. of 8 PVC SDR26 gravity sewer, 1 6-inch sanitary sewer tap, 1 manhole 4' in diameter, and 2 connections to the existing system as detailed on the attached construction plan titled Medical Village Sewer Relocation, Phase 2 prepared by Dunivant Engineering Company, Inc., and dated March 13, 2017. Sealed proposals must be submitted to the Wastewater Department at the Utilities Headquarters Building at 1806 Wilkinson Street and/or P.O. Box 1089, Athens, Alabama, 35612, prior to 10:00 a.m., Local Time, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at which time and place the proposals shall be publicly opened and read aloud. Each sealed envelope containing a proposal must be plainly marked on the outside as PRICED PROPOSAL FOR MEDICAL VILLAGE SEWER RELOCATION, PHASE 2. The City of Athens shall provide all sewer pipe, pipe fittings, manholes, and stone required for this project. The Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, and ancillary materials not provided by the City of Athens necessary for this project. Any questions or comments concerning this solicitation will be addressed by contacting the Department Manager or the Department's Staff Engineer. The City of Athens Utilities Wastewater Department may waive any informalities or reject any or all PROPOSALS. All PROPOSALS must remain valid for 30 days after the actual date and time of the formal opening thereof. The selection of a contractor will be based on price and commitment to meet the specified time limits. The selected contractor will be provided a purchase order and formal notice to proceed. Each PROPOSER must submit a statement with their PROPOSAL certifying compliance with Executive Orders 11246 and 11375 which prohibit discrimination in employment based on race, color, creed, sex, age or national origin.
